In order to receive humanitarian aid at a distribution point or buy groceries on their own in a supermarket, any Kharkiv citizen must stand in line for 3 hours which puts their lives at risk from stray bullets and shelling. They often come to find empty shelves as many workers have already fled.

 

On top of this, there are people with disabilities who cannot serve themselves. In hospitals, bomb shelters, subways...hundreds of thousands of people need food and basic human supplies every day.

Small businesses have come together to feed the townspeople, especially those who are blocked off in the most shelled areas. Kitchen staff are at work while shopkeepers and suppliers are providing groceries for cooking where they can and volunteers fill the trucks themselves and carry the food under shelling.

Every day, through the efforts of our group of volunteers alone, 6,000 people receive such invaluable help. But the stocks of food and money from the local population are not unlimited.
